Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detailed-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to join our accounting team in Wilmer, TX. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with Oracle, cost accounting, standard cost systems, and creating and understanding Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing. This is a short-term contract which has the potential to become permanent.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate inventory management.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, leveraging current Oracle software.
- Guide junior accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
- Reconcile complex accounts and banks.
- Assist with audits and testing.
- Build and interpret Bill of Materials (BOMs) and understand routing processes.
- Responsible for set up and maintenance of standard costs of inventory.
- Variance analysis and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA certification is a plus, though not a strict requirement.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or relevant role.
- Strong experience with Oracle systems preferred.
- Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing processes.
- Proficient skills in standard cost accounting.
- CPA certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
