Job Scope:
Facilitate network architecture and data center operations, supporting multiple locations and city infrastructure
Manage and implement Cisco Networking, Palo Alto, and Fortinet security measures, WiFi, Switching, and Routing
Implement Network Access Control (NAC) system
Conduct network troubleshooting and provide escalation support
Participate in future projects like data center migration to COLLOS, system upgrades, and Webex cloud migration
Provide coverage when other senior network engineers are not available
Challenge existing viewpoints and drive modernization efforts within the network team
Leverage your Cisco Core Networking expertise in Switching, Routing, Access Control, and WiFi
Utilize your Firewall & Security Expertise, preferably with Palo Alto or Fortinet
Apply your experience with Data Center Migrations & Network Upgrades
If possible, use your Cloud & Hybrid Networking Experience, especially with Azure and Webex Cloud Migration
Take advantage of any experience you have implementing Network Forensics & Security Monitoring.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a network engineering role, preferably within a local government context.
Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is necessary for the successful execution of job duties.
Demonstrated experience with Checkpoint is required for this position.
Experience with Cisco ASA is a crucial aspect of this role.
Extensive background in Cisco switching, routing, and voice systems.
Proven experience in managing large-scale network projects and leading technical teams.
Hands-on expertise with modern UTM systems and next-generation firewall/security appliances.
Hands-on expertise with Network Access Control (NAC) systems.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g., CCIE) is highly desirable
