Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Accountant to oversee income tax and sales & use tax compliance, reporting, and planning. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate tax filings, manage audits, and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Income Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns.
- Assist in tax provision calculations (ASC 740) and deferred tax accounting.
- Maintain accurate tax workpapers and documentation for compliance and audits.
- Support tax planning initiatives to optimize tax liabilities and reduce risks.
- Research and analyze tax law changes and their impact on the company.
Sales & Use Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file multi-state sales & use tax returns.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations across jurisdictions.
- Conduct nexus studies and manage tax registration for new business activities.
- Assist with audits and respond to tax notices from state and local authorities.
- Implement and improve tax compliance processes and technology tools.
General Tax & Accounting Support:
- Work closely with finance, legal, and external tax advisors to manage tax risks.
- Assist in tax forecasting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
- Maintain tax records and ensure compliance with corporate tax policies.
- Provide tax support for business transactions, contracts, and operational changes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred).
Experience: 2 years of tax experience
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and sales & use tax regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills for tax calculations and analysis.
