We are seeking a highly collaborative and detail-oriented SQL Database Engineer / Power BI Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database systems while playing a key role in our migration to the Microsoft Fabric environment and Power BI for data warehousing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and reliability of database systems, including managing backups and ensuring databases are online and operational.
- Perform daily database monitoring through tools like Data Veil, and implement index suggestions to maintain performance.
- Manage development and staging environments, including exporting and importing data to provide fresh datasets as needed.
- Collaborate with the development team to optimize SQL queries and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Oversee code migrations from staging to production environments with precision to minimize disruptions.
- Act as a key contributor and SME in the organization’s transition to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for data warehousing, ensuring a smooth migration.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams and vendors to achieve data-driven goals.
- Translate database requirements into action steps, keeping stakeholders in the loop while reducing technical debt.
Must-Have Skills:
- Expertise in SQL/SQL Queries – Proven experience in database administration, optimization, and analysis.
- Power BI Knowledge – Hands-on experience with developing and optimizing Power BI dashboards.
- Microsoft Fabric Environment Experience – Familiarity with Microsoft’s data warehousing solutions.
