Our client is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join their team for a long-term contract employment opportunity in Greater Hartford County Ct. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for a range of tasks including monthly close, account reconciliations, and general ledger tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Handle account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Carry out bank reconciliations, verifying transactions and rectifying any issues
• Maintain and manage the general ledger, inputting data and updating records
• Prepare journal entries
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting tasks
• Conduct month-end close processes, ensuring timelines are met and financial data is accurate
• Apply analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide insights
• Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations
• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience
• Proficient in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations
• Solid understanding of the general ledger and journal entries
• Must be skilled in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software
• Experience with month-end close procedures is necessary
• Should possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills are required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
