Sr. Accountant

Description

We are eager to welcome a Sr. Accountant to our team situated in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. In this role, you will be entrusted with handling a wide range of accounting and tax-related responsibilities, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, along with providing expert advisory services to our clients. This opportunity is set within the industry of Public Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive financial statements.
• Assisting with month-end closing processes.
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for advanced financial reporting.
• Conducting thorough account and bank reconciliations.
• Maintaining and updating the General Ledger.
• Crafting and posting detailed journal entries.
• Ensuring strict adherence to tax regulations.
• Serving as a trusted advisor for client accounting queries.
• Utilizing ERP systems or accounting software for efficient operations.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the same industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is a must, with the ability to handle multiple accounts simultaneously
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation skills are essential, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Must be capable of performing Bank Reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately represented and documented
• Expertise in managing General Ledger is necessary, including recording transactions, tracking credits and debits, and maintaining thorough records
• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries effectively, ensuring they accurately represent financial transactions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including the ability to use advanced functions for financial analysis and reporting
• Experience in Month End Close processes is necessary, with the ability to coordinate with various departments and ensure all financial data is accurately recorded and reconciled.
