We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant at our location in Murrels Inlet, South Carolina, 29576, United States. As part of our team, the Staff Accountant will be involved in a variety of financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger work, and monthly close procedures.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process accounts payable transactions
- Manage payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and update the general ledger as necessary
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including bank reconciliations and journal entries
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all customer credit applications
- Learn and adapt to the company's processes and systems, including QuickBooks
- Gain exposure to construction accounting, although prior experience in this area is not necessary
- Gradually assume the responsibilities of the current accountant.
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Experience in performing bank reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability in managing general ledger
- Proficient in making journal entries
- Demonstrated experience in month end close procedures
- Proficiency in QuickBooks software
- Familiarity with construction industry
- Experience in construction accounting
- Skilled in payroll management
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Detail oriented certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
