Staff Accountant

Salary: $27.00 to $32.00 hourly

Description

We are providing a unique opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Bessemer, Alabama. This role is crucial to our business operations and involves a variety of accounting responsibilities. You will employ your skills in a dynamic environment that offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. You must have strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Facilitate payroll processes in future operations.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, this includes performing cleanup work as required.
• Review and process expense reports.
• Assist with financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports and assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly closings.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and standards.
• Utilize Quickbooks Online for various accounting tasks.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Possess strong knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated expertise in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Thorough understanding and experience with General Ledger
• Skilled in preparing and analyzing Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close processes
• Proficiency in using Quickbooks Online
• Demonstrated ability to manage Payroll efficiently
