Travel: Limited to worksites in Claremont and Irvine
Overview:
We are seeking a Systems Specialist to join our team and support building automation systems for large commercial facilities. The role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-voltage HVAC controls, lighting systems, and other building automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with PLC systems, multimeters, and HVAC controls.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install & Configure Systems: Set up building automation systems, including HVAC and lighting controls.
- Verification & Troubleshooting: Perform point-to-point verification of sensors, controllers, and devices. Troubleshoot and repair field panels, sensors, communication devices, and electronic components.
- System Testing: Conduct input/output controls testing, ensure proper termination, and troubleshoot field cabinet issues.
- Device Checkout: Perform point-to-point checkout of end devices using multimeters, verify sensor continuity, valve stroke positions, and I/O channel assignments.
- Collaboration & Communication: Report technical issues to senior technicians, assist with system startups, and coordinate with other trades on-site to achieve project objectives.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain field markups, create daily reports, and document work performed.
- System Maintenance: Support system backups during projects and assist in minor program/graphic changes.
- Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain company tools, test equipment, and vehicles.
- Warranty & Service: Perform warranty-related service calls and ensure systems are functioning as intended.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years in building automation systems or HVAC controls, with hands-on experience in PLC systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with multimeters and electrical diagnostics; strong troubleshooting and technical skills.
- Education: Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, or air conditioning preferred.
- Software: Familiarity with MS Office Suite and intermediate computer skills.
- Certifications: OSHA-10 certification preferred (or ability to complete within 30 days).
- Soft Skills: Self-starter with excellent written/verbal communication, strong problem-solving, and a proactive attitude.
