Job Title: Vice President of IT (Back Office Systems and Cloud Infrastructure)

Position Overview:
A prominent investment firm is seeking a Vice President of IT to support a portfolio of middle-market SaaS companies. The role focuses on optimizing cloud infrastructure and back-office IT systems, including CRM, ERP, HRIS, and related systems. The VP will collaborate closely with teams to implement scalable IT solutions that drive modernization, cost efficiencies, and align infrastructure with business objectives across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Management (FinOps):
- Partner with cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, etc.) to optimize cloud services and reduce costs.
- Review and negotiate contracts to secure cost savings and discounts.
- Consolidate cloud vendors and accounts, particularly after mergers and acquisitions.
- Implement monitoring tools to optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
Back Office Systems Modernization:
- Lead IT implementation and integration efforts for CRM, ERP, HRIS, and other enterprise systems.
- Analyze systems and data flows to identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop a unified tech stack for portfolio companies to ensure scalable, effective enterprise solutions.
- Oversee the modernization of back-office functions and manage migrations to new platforms as needed.
Portfolio-Wide Benchmarking and Best Practices:
- Establish and monitor IT and cloud performance benchmarks across the portfolio.
- Regularly evaluate cloud costs, system performance, and operational efficiency.
- Share best practices across the portfolio to drive continuous improvement and optimization.
Strategic Vendor Management:
- Negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with IT service providers and vendors.
- Ensure high-value technology offerings are delivered to portfolio companies.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Align IT initiatives with the strategic and financial goals of portfolio companies.
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams and finance leaders.
Reporting and Optimization:
- Track IT and cloud cost savings across the portfolio.
- Identify and share trends and best practices to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 10 years in IT management, system implementation, FinOps, or cloud infrastructure roles (preferably in SaaS or consulting for SaaS businesses).
- Proven experience leading IT projects during mergers or acquisitions.
- Hands-on experience negotiating contracts with cloud and IT system vendors.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in cloud platforms AWS
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Uptime, DataDog).
- Knowledge of ERP, CRM systems (NetSuite, Intacct, Salesforce, etc.).
- Experience with billing systems (Zone Billing, Zora) and SaaS revenue models.
