We are offering an exciting opportunity for a VP of Engineering to join our team, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Responsibilities :
- Overseeing the development and implementation of engineering strategies that align with our overall goals and vision
- Directing a team of software engineers, architects, and technical leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, UX / UI, and Operations, to drive product innovation
- Managing the architecture and design of large-scale, distributed systems built on Java and AWS cloud infrastructure
- Advocating for the adoption of best practices in software development, ensuring adherence to Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) pipelines
- Exploring new technologies, tools, and techniques to drive innovation in software engineering
- Ensuring high-quality code delivery through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and performance optimization
- Leading the migration, optimization, and scaling of applications within AWS environments, ensuring cloud solutions are cost-effective, reliable, and secure
- Advancing a DevOps culture by advocating for automation, continuous deployment, and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Establishing monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols to maintain high availability and system performance in production environments
- Ensuring that engineering projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards
- Balancing technical debt management with the need for innovation, ensuring sustainable software development practices.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as VP of Engineering or similar senior position in an IT company.
- Expertise in Agile Scrum methodologies to manage projects and streamline processes.
- Proficiency in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CICD) practices to ensure software updates on a regular basis while maintaining high quality standards.
- Demonstrable experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including setup, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps for planning, tracking, and discussing work across the entire development team.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps Server for self-hosted environments to customize and manage builds, testing, and other processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with other teams and stakeholders.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
