Official Title: BYB DE Instructor - Humanities

Working Title: Beyond the Bell DE Instructor

Salary Grade: Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Georgia Annual Salary Schedule and position supplement(s)

Length of Work Year: Semester

Reports To: Executive Director of CTAE & District DE Coordinator

Location: Hutchings CCA

Essential Responsibilities:

· Design and implement a curriculum aligned with Wesleyan College's academic standards

· Deliver engaging instruction in Humanities through a traditional semester format

· Create detailed lesson plans incorporating diverse teaching methods

· Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

· Provide regular, constructive feedback on student work

· Submit grades and required documentation by the established deadline

Required Qualification Standards

· Master's degree from an accredited institution in a humanities discipline, OR

· Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in a humanities discipline

· Experience teaching at high school or college level

· Strong communication and classroom management skills

· Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems

Education, Training, and Experience:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to

stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit;

reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The

employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this

job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Special Requirements: Required to attend meetings outside of the normal school workday and

work week.
