What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Support Officer - Juvenile Detention Center position at Robert L. Perry Juvenile Justice Center?
Part-Time, 5-7 hours weekly
Starting wage is $16.22 an hour with option of a pay increase after 6 months
We are looking for energetic people to provide safety and security within a juvenile detention center while youth are allowed to visit with their parents. In this job, you will screen individuals entering the detention facility, using a hand-held metal detector and assist when needed should there be any disruptions.
Direct Care Staff are present during visitation hours to directly supervise the residents in the detention center with the security officer helping to provide addition safety, security and behavior control. Shifts are generally Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

- Must be 21 years of age.
- High school education, GED, or equivalent.
