Lighting Controls Specialist

Job Overview:

Robert S. Kimball Associates, Inc. is a leading lighting manufacturer representative firm seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lighting Controls Specialist to join our team. Based in Charleston, WV this role involves designing and quoting lighting control systems, while working closely with manufacturers, sales teams, and engineers to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and performance in lighting solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a collaborative team and to work on innovative lighting control projects across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Quote: Develop and quote customized lighting control systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
• Collaboration: Partner with project teams, engineers, and sales staff to integrate lighting control solutions into overall project plans and specifications.
• Site Visits & Assessments: Conduct site visits to evaluate existing systems and offer recommendations for system upgrades, improvements, or replacements.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with lighting control systems to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• Client & Team Support: Provide technical support, training, and guidance to clients and internal teams on the use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lighting control systems.
• Industry Knowledge: Stay current on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in lighting controls and energy efficiency to provide innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in lighting controls, electrical systems, or a related field is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems and building automation.
• Microsoft Office Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word for scheduling, communication, and reporting.
• Proficient in Bluebeam and CAD
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
