ABOUT ROBERT WHITE'S CONSTRUCTION - Steel Erectors, Welding & Fabrication
Robert White's Construction is a locally owned and operated structural steel erection company based in Rogers, Arkansas. We are currently searching for a Project Estimator/Bidder with structural steel experience to join our staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bid and manage work with conceptual stage through completion
- Carefully do take-offs and prepare bids on bid or negotiated projects.
- Obtain and execute contracts or purchase orders.
- Prepare a clear and complete proposal for contractors on all projects where the quoted price will be the basis for a contract.
- Prepare preliminary estimates as requested by customers and be clear and specific on what is being estimated at the time the estimate is being given to the customer.
- Follow-up on projects quoted to determine whether or when the project is to be produced by RWC.
- Obtain all necessary information about a job before we start the drawing process. (drawings, submittal date, delivery dates, etc.)
- Maintain the estimating programs.
- Continually update material, labor and freight costs.
- Assist project managers/coordinators with accurate prices for change orders.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings to share all known information about a job (finishes, delivery dates, special requirements, etc.)
- Understand each individual project estimate, scope of work and adhere to financial budgets.
- Effectively manage change orders relating to finances and schedules.
- Read legal contracts and scope of work requirements and make adjustments to support RWC's interests.
- Prepare sub-contracts and manage sub-contractors.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years in related field
SKILLS:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction specifications.
- Understand aspects of structural steel and miscellaneous metal concepts.
- Advanced computer skills with estimating software and competency in Word, Excel, and other basic programs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
