We are hiring an experienced finance professional to join our lean family office team. Our team oversees investing, portfolio management, operations, startup incubation, estate planning, a charitable foundation, and a $1bn family office started by a dynamic technology entrepreneur (the "principal"). The family office is based in San Francisco and is looking for Bay Area based candidates with the ability to come into the office five days per week. The VP will be a key advisor to our principal and will be responsible for managing the family office's internal and outsourced finance functions. The needs of our family office are dynamic and constantly evolving, so our VP will also regularly spearhead new initiatives and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Help set and manage investment, portfolio creation, and finance strategy using estate planning in conjunction with the Principal.
- Develop and implement financial planning with the Principal.
- Communicate strategic plan, risks, tradeoffs, with the Principal.
- Oversee all investments, liquidity needs, cash flows, financial reporting and tax accounting.
- Maintain appropriate risk management and internal controls in coordination with Family Office Controller.
- Identify and implement system development improvements.
- Efficiently manage a lean internal team (1-2 direct reports) and a group of A external back office, tax, legal, estate planning, charitable organization compliance and other vendors.
