SUMMARY:
The Scientist position conducts research, develops, and troubleshoots flavor systems, and the ingredients and technologies necessary to create them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create new flavor ingredients utilizing chemistry and reaction knowledge.
- Create new delivery systems that provide Robertet with technological advances for our customers.
- Develop, scale up, and problem solve the new systems, working with all areas of the company to insure the new products can be successfully produced and demonstrated to Robertet Customers.
- Explore new ingredients and technologies as possible avenues for delivery systems with Robertet personnel and external sources.
- As needed Problem solve with Quality Control and Operations teams when there are production problems.
COMPETENCIES:
- Scientific and practical knowledge on the use of various techniques as alternate flavor delivery systems.
- Ability to interact with scientists both internally and externally to transfer knowledge to products which can be produced by Robertet.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Degree in Food Science or Equivalent Field
- Experience in emulsion, spray dry, and other related controlled-release technologies.
Preferred:
- PhD in Food Science or Equivalent Field
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Lab environment with mild noise.
- Mild odors from chemicals/ compounds
- Plant environment as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting no more than 50 lbs.
- Frequent work in pilot plant environments with loud noise and high humidity.
- Occasional working in a Production environment, with elevated temperatures, loud noises, and high humidity
