The Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages the flow of materials and products within the facility. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk ensures accurate and timely receipt of incoming materials, as well as the safe and efficient shipment of finished products to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Receives, inspects, and accurately records all incoming materials and supplies, verifying quantities and quality.
Organizes and maintains inventory in designated storage areas, including labeling and tracking materials.
Prepares and packages finished products for shipping, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
Generates shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation for outgoing shipments.
Coordinates and schedules shipments with carriers, freight companies, and logistics providers.
Assists in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring the safe and secure handling of materials and products.
Conducts regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels, report shortages, and reorder materials as needed.
Performs quality checks on incoming materials and outgoing products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Collaborates with the production and quality control teams to resolve discrepancies or issues related to shipments and materials.
Maintains accurate and organized shipping and receiving records and documentation.
Ensures compliance with safety guidelines and protocols in all shipping and receiving activities.
Keeps the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Assists in occasional general warehouse tasks and supports other departments as needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field is a plus).
2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in using shipping and inventory management software and tools.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Forklift operation certification is desirable.
Knowledge of shipping regulations and customs documentation is a plus.
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.
Strong understanding and knowledge of hydraulics.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform in a strong team working environment and grow teamwork.
Ability to work in a construction environment.
Ability to work in permitted and non-permitted confined spaces.
