BOOKKEEPER
Small Law Firm is looking for a Bookkeeper to assist with all aspects of the firm’s finances, including IOLTA accounts, payroll account, and general operating account. Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks is a must, as is confidentiality, precision, efficiency, and the ability to problem-solve. Prior experience with IOLTA trust accounting a substantial plus. This position requires absolute attention to detail, ability to learn and understand cash flow within the business, being a team player when needed, and willingness to work independently when required.
Some of the Bookkeeping responsibilities include:
- Learning proprietary program to apply trust payments to proper account;
- Utilizing QuickBooks and another checkbook system to reconcile payments received against ledgers and bank accounts;
- Aiding firm to transition to other IOLTA software as new system is implemented;
- Processing high volume of checks;
- Payment of bills and recording payments within Quickbooks;
- Reconciliation of accounts;
- Preparation and reconciliation of expense reports for clients;
- Preparation of disbursements to clients;
- Managing accounts receivables;
- Assisting outside accountant with reports and payroll;
- Other tasks as assigned.
This position will require a background check. Our friendly team is growing, and we are looking for the right person to grow with us. Do you have the following qualifications?
- 5 years of solid bookkeeping experience (prior law firm bookkeeping experience is a substantial plus and may reduce experience required)
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree
- Proficient with QuickBooks (certification a plus)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new programs
Compensation will depend on experience (from $23/hour). Full time (40 hours per week), in-office Monday - Friday. Benefits include: health insurance; dental insurance; paid time off; 401(k) plan with Safe Harbor contribution; profit-sharing; and continuing education possibilities.
