POSITION SUMMARY:
The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep of lawns and landscaped areas, ensuring they are maintained to high standards. This role primarily involves operating mowing and landscaping equipment, performing edging and weeding, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks as needed. The ideal candidate has experience with lawn care equipment, follows safety protocols, and works efficiently in outdoor environments. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
- Schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate all personnel within the grounds department
- Establish, prioritize, and oversee the completion of daily grounds maintenance tasks
- Assign, track, and ensure the timely completion of work orders
- Operate lawnmowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment with precision to maintain grass areas at optimal standards.
- Perform edging, weeding, and other landscaping tasks to enhance the overall appearance and health of the property.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of lawn care equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing landscaping and groundskeeping duties.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks beyond mowing responsibilities, contributing to the overall upkeep of the property.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
- Identify and promptly report any hazards or necessary repairs to the General Manager for resolution.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and repair of all ground vehicles and equipment to maximize efficiency and longevity.
- Maintain the safe storage and handling of hazardous chemicals, tools, and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Manage inventory levels of equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company operating procedures and property maintenance standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Customer Service Skills: Proficient in providing outstanding service to guests and residents, ensuring their needs are met with excellence
- Effective Communication: Ability to convey information clearly and persuasively to individuals and groups of customers or associates
- Adaptability: Capable of applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in various formats, whether written, oral, or diagram form
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Skilled in addressing challenges that may arise, particularly those involving multiple variables in standardized situations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience operating commercial mowing and landscaping equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic lawn care techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or with a team.
- Valid driver’s license may be required based on job location.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical labor required, including lifting and operating machinery.
- Constantly stand, walk, push, pull, lift grasp, bend and kneel; Frequently use arms and hands
- Clear vision and hearing to communicate effectively
- Depending on the season, there is a possibility of encountering cold temperatures, heat, humidity, rain, and cold temperatures.
- May require early morning or weekend shifts, depending on property needs.
