The Assistant Vice President, Alumnae Engagement and Leadership Giving, is responsible for fostering meaningful relationships with alumnae while developing and managing strategies for securing leadership-level philanthropic support. This position will play a key role in strengthening alumnae affinity, engagement, and fundraising efforts to support Wesleyan College’s mission. The AVP will work closely with Institutional Advancement, alumnae volunteers, and other campus partners to build a vibrant and engaged alumnae network that enhances giving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: Alumnae Engagement & Relations
- Develop and implement programs to enhance alumnae involvement, including reunions, regional events, and networking opportunities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the college and the Alumnae Association, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Build relationships with alumnae to encourage lifelong engagement and advocacy for Wesleyan College.
- Manage alumnae communications in coordination with marketing, including newsletters, social media, and digital outreach.
- Oversee alumnae volunteer programs, recruiting and training volunteers for mentorship, admissions support, and fundraising initiatives.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of leadership-level gift prospects, focusing on alumnae donors.
- Develop tailored engagement and solicitation strategies for donors capable of giving at leadership levels ($1,000–$50,000).
- Work collaboratively with the Institutional Advancement team to increase alumnae participation in annual and long-term giving programs.
- Partner with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and other fundraising staff on donor strategy and engagement.
- Track and maintain donor and prospect information in the CRM system (Raiser’s Edge or similar).
- Recruit and support alumnae volunteers for various college initiatives, including fundraising, student mentoring, and career networking programs.
- Coordinate the Alumnae Board and key alumnae committees to drive engagement and support institutional priorities.
- Develop and implement recognition programs to celebrate alumnae contributions in engagement and philanthropy.
- Monitor alumnae participation and giving trends, providing reports and insights to institutional leadership.
- Use data and analytics to assess program effectiveness and refine engagement and solicitation strategies.
- Work collaboratively with Institutional Advancement and Enrollment teams to align alumnae engagement efforts with institutional goals.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in advancement, fundraising, alumnae relations, or related fields (higher education experience preferred).
- Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, particularly at leadership-giving levels.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with a passion for engaging alumnae and donors.
- Experience in event planning, volunteer management, and community engagement.
