POSITION: School Nurse (Starts 2025-2026 School Year)
SALARY: GRADE 68: ($4,456.19 monthly – Starting Salary)

GENERAL DUTIES: Collaborate with the school’s administrative staff to assist in the planning and implementation of the total school health program including activities related, but not limited to the following six basic health services areas.
- Preventing and responding to communicable disease outbreaks.
- Developing and implementing plans for emergency medical assistance for student and
- Supervising specialized clinical services and associated health teaching or students with chronic conditions and other special health needs.
- Providing oversight and medication administration and associated health teaching for other school staff who provide this service.
- Providing or arranging for routine health assessments, such as vision, hearing, or dental screening and follow-up of referrals.
- Assuring that mandated health-related activities are completed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have two years of experience as a school nurse or as a public health nurse.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Health Related Field.
- CPR Certified
- Certification by the National Association of School Nurses or the ability to obtain certification within three years of the hire date.
