The Plumbing Estimator will play a crucial role in estimating, planning, and collaborating closely with both the Plumbing Department Manager and the Estimating Department.

Key Responsibilities : Collaborate with the Plumbing Department Manager and Estimating Department to identify projects for bidding.

• Analyze specifications, blueprints, and addendums.
• Prepare and send requests for information to clarify project scope during the estimating phase.
• Assess the most effective installation methods and material usage to reduce projected costs and bids.
• Utilize the “FastPipe” estimating software.
• Create competitive bids as necessary (including bid forms, budgets, etc.) to fulfill project requirements.
• Make annotations or clarifications on contract and field drawings to support the Plumbing Department Manager, Superintendent, and Foremen during installations.
• Review job estimates and takeoffs with the Plumbing Superintendent to determine when to mobilize project resources, materials, and manpower.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for Fixture Packages after negotiating with various parties for optimal pricing.
• Participate in or lead turnover meetings for contracted projects, providing budgetary details and defined scopes to the operations team.
• Work with the Drafting Department to ensure CAD / Shop Drawings are available, minimizing conflicts with other in-house trades.
• Attend monthly department meetings as needed, including pre-bid sessions, weekly estimating meetings, and closeout meetings to evaluate project outcomes and compare estimates with actual costs.
• Partner with the Department Manager to explore new opportunities for increasing departmental revenue.
• Build and maintain relationships with potential clients and designers.
• Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Plumbing Department Manager. Minimum

Qualifications : A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Commercial Plumbing Estimating is required.
