About the Role:
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our systems through automation. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and implement automated solutions that streamline processes and reduce manual intervention. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and ensure that the solutions align with business objectives. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3 to 5 years experience in automation engineering or a similar role.
PLC and HMI programming utilizing various software: Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Studio 5000 Logix, RSLogix 500, EZWARE, Siemens etc.
Use and understanding of FANUC and EPSON control systems.
Experience with KEYENCE Vision systems a strong plus
Thorough understanding of ladder logic concepts
Familiarity with computer networking techniques and concepts
Familiar with mechanical engineering concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in CAD software
Responsibilities:
Conduct research and analyze data; document and track projects; produce and distribute appropriate reports.
Use computer aided design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
Confer with ROO staff and other plant personnel to help resolve problems, obtain additional information, and assistance for design development.
Assist in determining feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, and other technical and economic factor.
Assist in providing technical problem-solving support to Divisions utilizing designed experimentation in conjunction with analysis and sound engineering principles to resolve technical problems.
Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion.
Assemble and test experimental motor control devices, control panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment and components.
Interface and maintain favorable relations with equipment and electrical vendors; locate and investigate new potential sources; obtain and negotiate prices and terms; place orders.
Initiate purchase requisition; obtain approval; expedite orders for firm delivery dates; maintain necessary records; verify and submit bills and invoices to Prototype Program Manager for payment.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations; ensure that work area is maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
