What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Instructional coach/curriculum specialist position at Robinson Elementary?
The Aurora R-VIII School District is currently accepting applications for an Elementary Instructional Coach/Curriculum Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. The primary role of the coach is to build teacher capacity and understanding of instructional practices related to effective implementation of the Missouri Learning Standards. The Coach/Specialist will serve as part of the schools' leadership team providing “just in time”, job-embedded and ongoing professional development for teachers, staff, and administration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: collaborates regularly with staff for instructional planning, co-teaching, and modeling of effective instructional strategies; collaborates with supervisors on curriculum development; collaborates with district-level staff developers to plan and implement learning opportunities for staff; support teachers and administrators in using data to improve curriculum, instruction, and assessment on all levels; support the integration of technology in the instructional program; collaborate with district level and building level administrators to develop, coordinate, and support induction and continued professional learning for new teachers; support vertical alignment and scope/sequence between the various grade levels. Qualifications and technical skills requirements include, but are not limited to: possesses a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate; has five or more years of teaching experience; Masters degree or higher (preferred); demonstrates evidence of improving student achievement in the classroom; has experience in coaching/mentoring scenarios; and exhibits excellent presentation skills. Salary will be tied to the Aurora R-VIII Certified Salary Schedule plus an extended day contract. Benefits include a Board-paid health insurance stipend and paid sick/personal leave.
