Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax documents by the required deadlines, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
- Analyze financial records, such as income statements and expense reports, to determine tax liability.
- Stay current with changes in tax law and inform management of any implications for the company.
- Respond to tax-related inquiries from clients and regulatory agencies.
- Reconcile tax data on financial statements and ensure correct tax accounting is applied.
- Prepare tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating provision schedules.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- CPA certification required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting
- Proficiency with tax software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Experience with IRS audits and federal/state tax compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to continuous education and staying updated on industry changes
- Experience with financial statement preparation and review
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax seasons
