The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor supports the EHS Department to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements. Provides EHS support to site leadership and works on various initiatives to improve EHS performance and metrics. Provides functional and supervisorial support to EHS Director to assist with the implementation of an effective EHS program.

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor supports the EHS Department to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements. Position Responsibilities
- Performs and/or oversees EHS audits
- Coordinates follow-up on corrective actions from audits, Incidents, unsafe conditions, regulatory actions, EHS recommendations. Verifies various tracking procedures are completed timely.
- Assist with communication on EHS matters. Including assisting with the development of EHS alerts, bulletins, procedures.
- Becomes familiar with all environmental permits and requirements. Ensures compliance by reviewing environmental record keeping, logs, inspections, and data to ensure records are completed accurately and thoroughly per permit requirements. Trains others on their roles and responsibilities to ensure compliance.
- Works closely with stakeholders to provide support, and/or training to ensure impacted personnel are following permit requirements.
- Conducts or oversees specific environmental inspections, including storm water, hazardous waste, UST, and air quality visible emissions, various VOC and dust collector logs.
- Coordinates or oversees various lab testing, sampling including Stormwater and Wastewater
- Processes various environmental agency renewal fees and payment requests
- Assist or oversee the compilation of various environmental data requests to support the submittal of various environmental regulatory reports to various agencies. Performs Data quality assurance checks.
- Works with 3 rd party vendor(s) to ensure Safety Data Sheet Management System is up to date and current
- Compiles EHS reports, data for presentations reporting to management
- Updates or oversees EHS communication boards as needed. Including Gemba boards, Incident Trackers, etc.
- Provides support to quarterly Safety Committee meetings including documenting minutes and performing any follow-up, tracking of issues, concerns.
- May participate in conducting EHS trainings for employees
- Verify various safety inspections performed as required such as Forklift, Scissor Lift, JLG, Eyewash, Fire Extinguisher, Ladders, First Aid Cabinets, AED, Emergency Lights
- Develops Job Safety Analysis, Safety Procedures, and conducts various risk assessments
- Compiles and analyzes data from assessments to identify trends and prepares data to share with management.
- Performs contractor safety reviews and orientations
Other Competency Requirements Include

- Ability to develop strong working relationships with RHC employees. Peers.
- The position regularly needs to collaborate with department leaders, managers and their team members, vendors, contractors, to respond to the needs of department and to provide EHS support.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, Occupational Safety, Sciences, Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years EHS field experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
- Time Management: Ability to work on multiple tasks at a time and ability to prioritize. Ability to act with a sense of urgency to respond to urgent EHS issues. Ability to follow-up on any pending or unresolved actions or issues towards timely completion and resolution.
- Technical Skills: Ability to work with comprehensive EHS regulations, permits, standards to ensure compliance.
- Analytical/Problem Solving: Ability to not only identify problems but also work with stakeholders to develop solutions and corrective actions in a collaborative manner. Ability to research solutions, best practices to improve company performance.
