JOB OVERVIEW
The Production Coordinator is a key member and will be responsible for coordinating production processes through supervision of assigned employees. You will lead your team in a manufacturing company where projects are engineered to specifications. The position is challenged with coordinating, prioritizing, delegating assignments, training and directly ensuring work orders are completed as scheduled to meet client demands.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing daily schedule and delegation of Work-Center jobs.
- Planning execution of jobs by directing and leading a team of hourly employees.
- Comprehending work orders, shop drawings, bill of material, and narratives and clearly communicating the information to employees.
- Gaining commitments by reviewing hourly expectations of what is required to be fabricated/assembled each day.
- Managing estimated versus actual hours.
- Controlling departmental inventory for product on shop floor.
- Reducing the amount of rework from the department.
- Understanding and evaluating fabrication/assembly methods for maximum efficiency.
- Interacting with Production Supervisor and or Plant Manager to assure clear communication and maximum job output.
- Ensuring all employees are practicing safe work methods.
- Implementing a team concept into fabrication/assembly to help problem solve and improve on efficiency.
- Managing employees to ensure they are performing to expectations.
- Being visible and accessible on the shop floor throughout each day to field employee
questions and monitor job progress. - Implementing and maintaining all safety procedures within the company standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 years of supervisory experience preferred
- 3-7 years of production experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing field desired
- Proficient knowledge of Shop Track, Infor (CSI), or another SAP system as well as Microsoft Office products
- Ability to communicate effectively in conversation, email and writing
- Ability to train and lead others
