Role And Responsibilities
- Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Operate welding equipment and machinery safely and effectively, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Conduct visual inspections of welded components to detect defects or irregularities and make necessary adjustments to ensure conformance to quality standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the fabrication department to optimize workflow and achieve production targets within scheduled deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including routine maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to address any issues or concerns related to welding processes or product quality.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality assurance, and workplace conduct.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or vocational training in welding preferred.
- Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Strong understanding of welding principles, metallurgy, and material properties, with the ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, torches, grinders, and measuring instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity, with the ability to produce precise and consistent welds on a variety of metal materials.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating additional welding processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
- Experience with welding various types of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment and perform basic repairs as needed.
