What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Service Desk Technician position at Robinson Oil Corporation?
Robinson Oil Corporation, dba Rotten Robbie, is looking for an IT Service Desk Technician with 5 years of experience to support the IT activities across our 38 convenience stores and headquarters. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, excel in problem solving and provide high quality customer service, accurate documentation and be excited to tackle a broad range of challenges.
What the IT Service Desk Technician does
Desktop and Retail System Support:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Windows desktops and peripheral devices.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain software and hardware.
- Address and resolve end-user technical issues promptly.
- Maintain and troubleshoot POS systems, ensuring functionality in retail environments.
Assist with Network Support and Maintenance:
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure
- Monitor network performance to ensure minimal downtime and disruptions.
- Install, configure, and manage routers, switches, and firewalls
- Skilled at troubleshooting/managing Windows desktops, Meraki Wi-Fi, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, EntraID.
- Strong working knowledge in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VoIP
- Experience administering Switches, Firewalls, and Internet connectivity
- Excellent communicator across all organizational levels
Preferred:
- Experience managing Mako VPNs, Fortinet & Versa SD-WAN and Verifone POS systems
- Prior experience in supporting IT systems in a multi-unit retail environment
