Job Summary
Plans, controls and directs the daily operation to produce maximum efficiency; regulates compliance with the Robinson Rancheria Tribal/State Compact policies, procedures, internal controls and regulations. The Compliance Officer’s job will be to conduct regular random compliance checks on all departments of Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino. The Compliance Office will ensure all departments are in compliance with all laws applicable to the Indian Gaming Industry. This includes, National Indian Gaming Commission, Robinson Rancheria Gaming Ordinance of 1993, and the Tribal State Compact.
Responsibilities
- To understand Tribal and Federal Minimum Internal Control Standards.
- To report any/all infractions to the Gaming Commission.
- To ensure all departments within the Gaming Facility are in compliance with all regulations. Maintain filing system on all policies and procedures of all departments (i.e. Table Games, Slots, Bingo, Food & Beverage, etc.)
- To maintain and ensure all business entities associated or conducting business with the Gaming facility are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and ordinance of the Tribe as set forth by the Commission.
- To be able to examine and evaluate their firms' financial and information systems, management procedures, and internal controls to ensure that records are accurate and controls are adequate to protect against fraud and waste
- Attend meetings, workshops and training pertaining to Compliance Officer duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Robinson Rancheria Gaming Commission.
- Reviews incident/violation reports for clarity, specifics and directs to Gaming Commission
- Provides recommendations or investigation requests to Gaming Commission.
- Provides assurance that all investigations are performed in accordance to policies, procedures, Regulations, Ordinance, Tribal-State Compact, and IGRA.
- Ensures daily checklists and auditing are conducted and reported in accordance to policies and procedures.
- Provides recommendations to the Gaming Commission for continuous improvement of operational efficiency.
- Provides assistance to managers/employees in reference to Internal Controls, Regulations, 1993 Ordinance, Tribal-State Compact.
- Reviews policies and procedures for growth efficiency.
- Ensures employees are in compliance with Policies, Regulations, Tribal-State Compact and IGRA.
- Provides Gaming Commission with assistance as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of college education including enforcement, investigative or equivalent training in job related field preferred.
- Regulatory training or other equivalent training or the ability to obtain this training within one year of employment.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in accounting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of all in-house Table Games, Slot Machine procedures, and policies and procedures for each department, or the ability to obtain this training within one year of employment.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Excellent comprehension skills for reading, understanding and interpreting documents.
- Ability to type 35 wpm.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. and use of the Internet.
- Ability to analyze complex accounting processes and to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the system.
- Must be detail oriented and able to perform complex procedural activities.
- Able to comply with the extreme level of confidentiality required.
- Dependable and able to work under pressure.
- Must be able to meet attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and Gaming Commission policies and procedures preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 29 per week
