ROLE AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform electrical engineering tasks.
- Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.
- Direct and coordinates construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements, researching, and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components, soliciting observations from operators.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests from manufacturing, customers, and vendors.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, requesting repair service.
- Develop budgets, estimate labor, bills of materials, and construction costs.
- Investigate customer complaints, determine the root cause and extent of the problem, and recommend remedial measures.
- Maintains product database by writing computer programs, entering data.
- Completes and reviews drawing packets used and created by the engineers and designers to document logic, point to point wiring and system interaction.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and being able to communicate effectively both verbally and through written documentation.
- Assist sales and estimating with projects to enhance existing and develop new product development.
- Interface with procurement and vendors in modification and approval of component parts and assemblies
- Develop schedules, coordinate, and manage projects of all sizes with minimal supervision.
- Travel may be required.
- Other tasks as required.
