JOB OVERVIEW
As a Powder Coater-Painter at Robinson, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a high-quality finish of products for various customer projects. Working within a dynamic team environment, the ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering top-notch craftsmanship.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, apply coatings, and inspect to achieve a consistent high-quality finish with a variety of products and substrates.
- Hang or handle products safely using a variety of hooks and carts for the painting process.
- Clean and prepare part surfaces as specified.
- Inspect parts prior to painting for needed repair, sand or body work if may be required.
- Mask parts and plug holes to print notes stating tight tolerances for overspray prevention.
- Mix paint, catalyst, reducers, and additives per specification.
- Adjust paint and process parameters to account for atmospheric conditions (such as temperature and humidity) or coating irregularity to achieve the specified or expected quality finish.
- Produce a high-quality paint finish on a variety of materials.
- Inspect parts for defects, repair or repaint if required.
- Effectively manage time to ensure on-time delivery of every project.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools including painting, mixing equipment as well as booths and filtration.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in metal fabrication or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a construction assembler or similar role in a metal fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well with others and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in metal fabrication, with a dedication to maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- A high school diploma with experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- 2 years' experience with spray painting in an industrial setting a plus
- Familiarity with industrial coatings is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively as a team member.
- Adhere to ISO procedure qualifications.
- Strong sense of safety and following all safety procedures
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow through on verbal instructions is required.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination to consistently mask parts and plug holes for painting, along with the ability to accurately measure areas for masking to achieve desired results.
- Consistently demonstrate sound safety practices, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on ladders, kneel, bend down, and stretch is required.
- Physically able to wear protective equipment on a regular basis is required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Good references with excellent work attendance and attitude.
