Host

• Job summary: The host is the first and last impression our guest experience. A warm welcoming hello with a smile followed by a fond farewell inviting each guest to return soon to dine with us. Hosts are expected to be attentive to guest’s needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed. The host sets the tone for the perfect guest dining experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Acknowledging each guest as they approach the host stand with a welcome and how many will be dinning with us this afternoon/evening?
• Answering questions with confidence, if you are unsure of the answer, get a manager on duty to assist.
• Calmly walk each party to their table, please chat with them on your way, wait for each guest to take a seat, pass out the menus and let them know that their server (state the server’s name) will be right with them.
• When possible, communicate with server that they have been sat.
• Keep a tidy wait area, organized wait list with accurate wait times and a fair rotation amongst the servers when business is declined.
• Know what tables are open, need to be cleaned, and are about to leave.
• Be in constant communication with bussers: which table you need cleaned and ready to be sat first. For large parties, if table need to be pushed together or more chairs are needed and if any special accommodations will be needed (highchairs, booster seats, strollers or wheel chairs).
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently as described in Employee Handbook
• Let Expo/kitchen know how many menus are down and if large parties are coming in.
• Promptly involve your manager on duty with all guest relations both good and not so good.
• Let guests know where they can wait while waiting for a table.
• Stay calm, cool, and collective when the restaurant is busy.
• Keep the guests informed when there quoted wait time is approaching and their table is not quite ready be sure to get your manager on duty involved.
• Answer the phone with a smile.
• Keep guests informed when there quoted wait time is approaching if it will be a longer wait than they were quoted.
• Have fun, be happy and enjoy your job.

Answering phones and inputing orders into the POS (Shift4).

Putting together takeout orders and handing them out to the correct person.

Cleaning up your station a the end of the night.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
