You will collaborate with multiple teams and advisors to run tax audits, legislative reviews, and special projects. This full-time role is on a hybrid schedule based in our San Mateo, California office, reporting to the Global Director of Indirect Tax.You Will : Lead tax audits, voluntary disclosure agreements and refund claims in conjunction with external advisers, including data collection and settlement recommendations.Analyze sophisticated tax issues and provide tax guidance for strategic planning initiatives and other special projects.Review indirect tax legislative developments and work with Tax Leadership and Government Relations team on tax policy.Prepare memos that detail tax policy, positions, and procedures.Handle and review tax reserves in compliance with ASC 450 (FAS 5) to ensure accurate financial reporting.Conduct risk assessments and reviews of indirect tax processes to identify and mitigate potential risks.Develop, implement, and maintain SOX controls related to indirect tax to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.Review and analyze intercompany agreements and transfer pricing studies.Review commercial contracts and agreements between Roblox and various vendors and partners to determine any indirect tax impacts working cross functionally with business development, brand partnerships, accounting, and legal.Assist with developing training material to be deployed to key business functions.Connect with multiple partners, including senior management, auditors, and tax authorities.You Have : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MS in Tax or equivalent education and experience.Current or inactive CPA, CA or ACCA designation preferred.5 years experience working in indirect tax at a public accounting firm and / or corporate tax department.Technical knowledge of sales and use tax and global VAT / GST systems, and experience handling indirect tax with digital products and ecommerce.Broad-based understanding of tax and accounting fundamentals and processes.Deep analytical and problem-solving skills with interest in technology and its use in business processes.Power BI, Alteryx or automation tools experience.High attention to detail and ability to complete projects timely.Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA : The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
