What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Bible Teacher position at ROBS?
River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a Middle School Bible Teacher beginning August 2025.
The Middle School Bible teacher will teach Bible classes to students in grades 5-7. This teacher must be organized and have the ability to handle fast-moving, complex classroom activities and a sensitive subject area. The Bible teacher will need to be comfortable teaching Biblical truths from an ecumenical Christian perspective and handling complex questions from students with grace and respect for each child’s family.
We are looking for a teacher who is enthusiastic about teaching students how to study the Bible and who loves working with middle school students with the challenges and joys that this age group presents. The teacher will also act as an advisor, leading an advisory program which includes a character and spiritual development component as well as home base responsibilities and will also sponsor and oversee the ROBS’s Odyssey of the Mind club.

Responsibilities:
- Teach Bible classes to middle school students in grades 5 – 7
- Sponsor ROBS’s Odyssey of the Mind club
- Serve as an advisor, leading an advisory program which includes a character and spiritual development component as well as home base responsibilities
- Model and guide students in Christ-like values and character development
- Deliver innovative curriculum that integrates technology intentionally and appropriately
- Embrace lifelong learning and a growth mindset for adults and student alkie
- Participate collaboratively in grade-level, departmental, divisional, and all-school teams
- Practice cultural competence in teaching and teamwork
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, initiative, and self-reflection
- Motivate and engage students
- Delight in teaching children in middle school years
Qualifications:
- A vibrant Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment
- A bachelor's degreewith a minimum of 12 hours of educational courses
- Coursework in Biblical studies or other evidence of extensive Biblical knowledge
- Teaching certification for the grade-level applying
- Two year’s full-time teaching experience, preferably teaching Bible, preferred
