A Robson Communities Company, B&R Engineering is looking for a Forward Planner.
PURPOSE OF POSITION /SUMMARY
The Forward Planner is responsible for both the acquisition of property, as well as the coordination of submittals to municipalities seeking approvals needed prior to development of land and building of homes. In acquisitions will cultivate opportunities for land purchases through positive relationships with individual land owners, real estate brokers and cooperating home builders. Will continually develop and maintain knowledge of the real estate market and will cooperate with the accounting/finance department in evaluating the financial strength of a potential project. Coordinate strategic relationships with both consultants and municipalities. Will utilize consultants for narratives, land plans, plats, civil improvement plans and other documents for submittal to the appropriate government organizations. Must be able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and owners regarding potential projects/due diligence necessary which may require presentation of data/analysis. Perform other job duties as assigned.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage consultant’s efforts during project ensuring completion of work within cost and schedule agreed upon.
- Submit and follow up on all plats, plans and requests submitted to the appropriate government entity.
- Attend council meetings, hearings and other government meetings in preparation for necessary approvals during project.
- Conduct land parcel searches through market awareness and relationships with land owners and real estate brokers.
- Coordinate with the accounting/finance staff in evaluating the financial strength of potential projects being considered for purchase.
- Coordinate efforts with the applicable divisions as project begins transitioning into preparation for infrastructure development.
- Request proposals from and negotiate contracts with consultants for entitlement work
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/COMPUTER/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 7 years previous experience
- Experience with developer entitlement
