As a Frontend Software Engineer at Robust AI, you will play a key role in developing and refining our robot fleet management and behavior authoring tools. This is a dynamic position that will involve working across multiple surfaces that internal and external users interact with, including:
- the web-based on-robot UI
- the authoring environment for our visual programming language, enabling behavior tree-based robot behaviors
- customer-facing tools for managing robot fleets.
This role requires a pragmatic engineer who can navigate the unique trade-offs of each interface while balancing usability, performance, and scalability. You are someone who thrives in an early-stage startup environment, enjoys collaborating across teams, and can adapt quickly to evolving technical challenges.
\n- Develop web-technology-based interfaces for interacting with our robots at the individual and fleet levels.
- Add any APIs you need to our back-end services to fetch the data you need.
- Turn product requirements into usable interfaces.
- Collaborate with UX/Leadership to create a roadmap for future features.
- Communicate with internal teams about that roadmap and upcoming changes.
- Refine our release and testing processes.
- 2 years of industry web development experience
- 2 years of experience working in javascript/typescript
- Experience with modern web development frameworks (such as Vue or React) and best practices
- Familiarity with cloud application deployment (such as AWS or GCP)
- Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Behavior trees in any format (Robotics, Game Development, etc)
- Transport layers for robots and computer systems like ROS, GRPC, NATS
- Python
- SQL
- Writing debugging tooling
