Job Overview: As a Commercial Electrical Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating electrical projects within commercial buildings. You will lead a team of electricians, ensuring the successful execution of electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of electricians, apprentices, and other personnel. Delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient project execution.
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to plan and organize electrical projects. Develop work schedules, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Review and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with specifications and electrical codes.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings. Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards. Identify and address any issues or deviations from project specifications.
  • Team Management: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members. Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Material Management: Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment. Manage inventory and control material usage on projects.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines on-site. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and ensure that all team members adhere to safety regulations.
  • Client Communication: Interface with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges that may arise during the course of a project. Work collaboratively with the team to find effective solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including project documentation, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs and work within budgetary constraints. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Expertise: Journeyman electrician license or equivalent experience. In-depth knowledge of commercial electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Safety Consciousness: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using tools, equipment, and technology relevant to the electrical trade.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-oriented approach with a commitment to meeting and exceeding client expectations.
