The Position
2025 Summer Intern - Hardware Development
We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love.
Department Summary
The intern will support a team developing complex consumable devices for medical diagnostics.
This internship position is located in Santa Clara, CA (On site).
The Opportunity:
Performance evaluations for new hardware designs.
Test methods and process development.
Dimensional and mechanical measurements.
Surface metrology and characterization.
Data analysis and report generation.
Sample preparation for external analysis.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
Must have attained a Master's Degree.
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
Required Majors:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
Required Skills:
Excellence in familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or equivalents required.
Interested in metrology, microscopy, and other types of hands-on laboratory analysis work.
Interested in computational modeling & physics simulation.
Previous laboratory experience is highly preferred.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.
Extensive knowledge of fluidic dynamics is a plus.
Familiarity with JMP, R, MATLAB and other statistical analysis programs is a plus.
Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $45.00-$50.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
