The Diagnostics Partnering organization drives Roche Diagnostics' partnerships, encompassing R&D, technology, biomarker, digital, and commercial deals of every type, worldwide. Currently, the Diagnostics Partnering group in Pleasanton, CA, US, has a Partnering Lead position available on the Diagnostics Partnering Strategy and Transactions team.
The Opportunity:
The position identifies opportunities, builds and leads deal and diligence teams to evaluate them, and negotiates agreements to access promising partnering opportunities across our various business and customer areas.

Want- Define external growth strategy: You perform and provide expertise & thought leadership as part of the squad teams to proactively generate strategic opportunities (areas/segments) that contribute to the Roche Diagnostics strategy.
- Co-create with internal stakeholders strategic partnering wants and target product profiles (TPPs) in line with Roche Diagnostics' strategy.
- Proactively conduct, in close collaboration with the technology chapter & business stakeholders, systematic screens for suitable technologies, products, digital solutions, and companies.
- Perform evaluation (strategic, financial assessment & feasibility assessment, selection of appropriate deal structure) & prioritization against strategic WANTs and TPP of external partnership options with an emphasis on business modeling.
- As part of and alongside squad members, lead and provide best practices in planning and conducting Due Diligences (external partnership options meet strategic WANTs or TPP)
- Prepare objective, sound, and well-prepared recommendations regarding specific business partnerships to senior management and respective governance bodies

- Minimum Requriements
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, or a related field, preferably at a PhD, JD, or MBA level.
- A minimum of 7 years of previous experience or background in business or corporate development, strategy consulting, venture capital, investment banking, or a related field is required.

SE9 Level:
- Minimum Requirements
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, or a related field. Preferred at a PhD or MBA level.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience or background in business or corporate development, strategy consulting, venture capital, investment banking, or related fields is required.

- Broad knowledge and track record ideally across various types of business partnerships and/ or transactions, including M&A, Licensing, R&D, Commercial Collaboration agreements
- Understanding of the diagnostics industry is a plus
- Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including a track record of managing multiple high-performing cross-functional teams and projects
- Experience in applying agile principles to project teams
- Knowledge of accounting, finance & financial modeling
