The Opportunity:

The Security Professional’s role is to protect and secure the Roche Diagnostics employees, visitors, and company assets by observing, controlling and monitoring the security systems and/or security issues/risks. Ensure effective communication, implementation and adherence of Security programs, policies, procedures, and regulations in a calm, engaging and professional manner. Makes recommendations and may develop new security procedures, technology and infrastructure enhancements. May assist security vendors to ensure the efficient and effective use of our security systems & equipment. May provide security for executives and physical assets on and off the Indianapolis, Indiana campus. May often create Risk Assessments of sites and venues for Roche attended events. May use local police powers in the protection of employees.

This experienced security professional addresses diverse and complex issues, relying on years of hands-on experience to evaluate incidents, identify solutions, and sometimes coordinate team activities. They will work closely with internal and external personnel to ensure security objectives are met and maintained.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Building Lobby Security to greet, screen, and direct employees and visitors, determine accessibility needs, utilizes the visitor management system, and validates identification. May inspect delivered material and act as a backup to the lobby receptionist.

• Respond to calls for security services and conduct or assist with investigations, as requested or directed. May be called upon to aid police and emergency management officials with enforcement of federal, state, or local laws.

• Enforce and assist in educating new and current employees on security policies, procedures, and regulations

• Routinely inspect property to ensure security requirements are met. Investigate disturbances, and in the event of an emergency, maintain order and safety of employees and visitors. Provide aid in emergency situations when appropriate.

• Conduct risk assessments for Roche attended venues and sites. Physical protection when directed.

• Travel to protect Roche employees and assets required

• Understands the local emergency services provider response to critical situations and may serve as a liaison with local emergency responders on issues of mutual concern.

• Oversees Audits and tests of security systems (video, access, alarms)

• Assist with training of new security employees

• May conduct internal investigations with supervisor approval

• Maintains local Police Powers

• Makes recommendations regarding new security technology and infrastructure enhancements.

• May provide security for executives and physical assets on and off the Indianapolis, IN. campus

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least 4 years security or law enforcement experience

• Appointment as Special Deputy by the Marion Count Sheriff’s Department or the ability to attend the training academy to be certified.

• Demonstrated experience or certified in: First Responder, CPR, AED, and Defibrillator or possess the ability to attend training to become certified.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years of Government certified full-time law enforcement experience with midsize to large police agency

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for constant public engagement

• Expertise in responding calmly and effectively to critical situations

• Focused on process improvement and operational efficiency
  Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Adaptable to changing environments; retired law enforcement preferred

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis, IN is $63,000 - $117,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
