POSITION SUMMARY
A Registered Professional Nurse promotes and restores patient’s health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Employee shall perform nursing functions in accordance with the policies, procedures, and objectives of the Nursing Department. The RNs responsibilities encompasses compliance with The Joint Commission standards, CMS, OSHA, IDPH, the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and state regulations.

Education
- Must be a graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Must have current Illinois RN license.
- Must be currently CPR certified.
- Previous telemetry experience desirable.
- Must obtain ACLS and PALS certification within first six months of employment.
- Must pass a Telemetry test within the first six months of employment.
- Must show competency of those skills designated by the Manager of Inpatient Services by exam and/or demonstration.
- Must be in good physical and mental health, and able to work under pressure.
- Must have good teaching and communication skills.
- The ability to operate designated computer equipment.
- Must complete a basic dysrhythmia class annually.
- The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Requires long periods of standing at times.
- Requires quick movement, agility and fast response time.
- Requires direct patient contact with potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Frequent repositioning of patients.
- Ability to perform CPR – a strenuous activity.
- Demonstrates the ability to work accurately and effectively in oral and written directions and communication.
- Enjoys working with people and works cooperatively with other hospital staff.
- Constant kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional need to lift patients
- Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
