We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician for the Rochester Airport Marriott in Rochester, NY.

Requirements:
· Available weekends is a requirement.
· Be able to manage time effectively, complete required tasks on time
Education & Experience:
· At least 2 years of experience in a hotel environment at the Engineer required
· HVAC certified, Pool certified, Technician certified and/or combination preferred
· High School diploma or equivalent required
· Stable work history required
· Salary based on experience
Mental requirements:
· Strong understand of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
· Need to be a team player – if you like to work on an island by yourself, this won’t be a good fit for you!
· Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
· Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
· Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
· Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
· Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
Duties and Functions:
1. Provides for the safety of guests and employees by ensuring proper building maintenance.
2. Responds to maintenance requests from General Manager and department heads for maintenance and/or repair of the physical building, heat, cooling or ventilation system, electrical or plumbing systems.
3. Develops and implements an effective preventive program for the physical building, heating, cooling or ventilation system, electrical or plumbing systems.
4. Carries out simple projects of carpentry, painting, room renovation or furniture rearrangement.
5. Maintains energy conservation measures and monitoring consumption through meter readings.
6. Refers maintenance needs requiring the services of outside companies to the General Manager for approval.
7. Maintains tools, work space and equipment.
8. Maintains all fire equipment.
9. Assigns maintenance requests to maintenance technicians, maintaining a work order bulletin board, maintaining records and blueprints.
10. Responsible for maintenance of pools and grounds.
11. Performs other duties or services as requested by the General Manager.
12. Surveys facility daily to inspect meeting rooms, lobby, restaurant, etc., to identify any potential problems which need corrective action.
13. Responsible for developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program and room care program.
14. Responsible for all swimming equipment, including cleaning, vacuuming, chemical balance, and record keeping.
15. Responsible for keeping a current inventory on all keys.
