What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Teacher position at Rochester Christian School?
Rochester Christian School has an immediate need for a 6-8 English Language Arts teacher to join our team of highly trained faculty and staff. This is a part time contract position of 3 classes per day, 5 days per week (mornings).
The Teacher is responsible for working with our principal and teacher colleagues to assist in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate for the middle school students in our school, where our mission and vision is both valued and upheld.

Qualifications:

- Ability to creatively implement our middle school curriculum and meet the State and National Standards outlined in our curricula
- Mastery of and enthusiasm for relevant academic subjects
- Ability and desire to implement feedback from school leaders and colleagues to become a more effective educator in service to our students
- Valid NYS Certification and Master’s degree are preferred
- Quality teaching experience/s at the middle school level preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree from a college or university before employment begins
- Proficiency in Google programs and use of Smartboard technology preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards for middle school English Language Arts.
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and communication skills.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Support diverse learners, including those with special educational needs, to ensure all students succeed.
