Department : Operations / Riverside Parking
Position : Over Night Security Guard
General Description :
The Security Guard personnel are responsible for the day-to-day operations and safety of the parking garage. Monitoring of specific facility automated systems and enforcement of specific building policies and procedures as directed by management. Position reports directly to the Assistant Director Riverside Parking. Hours can range between 10pm-7am, depending on event schedules.
Primary Responsibilities :
1. Works as scheduled in designated uniform and nametag.
2. Answers and direct a variety of incoming and internal phone calls according to established building salutation; communicate with other staff as well as patrons.
3. Distribution and recording of all portable radios, keys and first aid equipment.
4. Responsible for closing of facility, including all lighting, doors, etc.
5. Monitors closed circuit television video recording systems; and logs / reports any inconsistencies with normal building routine.
6. Ability to follow established procedures with regards to emergency situation, i.e. fire, bomb threat, medical, etc.; maintain professional image.
7. Keeps written daily logs and reports in the areas of Lost and Found, property damage, theft and incidents involving patrons / staff as well as vehicles.
8. Scheduling requires Security Guard personnel to be flexible in off-shift availability.
9. Individuals are responsible to work inside and outside the facility with exposure to inclement weather and in unpredictable crisis situations.
10. Such other duties, functions, special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements : Qualifications :
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Experience in dealing with the public under normal and abnormal conditions and in working under emergency conditions.
4. Previous security experience required; NYS Security License required.
5. Ability to work independently
