General Summary
The Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Coordinator handles all aspects of the import and export compliance process to support the fulfillment supply chain process. Work collaboratively with various internal departments and external partners to provide guidance and support for logistics transportation and carrier in bound to Rochester Electronics fulfillment warehouses (both consumption and Free Trade Zone). Ensure compliance with all import and export trade compliance regulations for the Department of Commerce, Department of State, and Department of Energy export licenses, and provide guidance and support to identify controlled data and hardware, licensable transactions, classifying, evaluating, and assigning HTUS and ECCN.

Essential Job Functions
Global Logistics:
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and freight partners to ensure proper paperwork, a smooth pickup transaction, and air/ocean freight booking
- Assess and determine the proper shipping method by air freight, ocean freight, or courier service using details of shipping location, weight, dimensions, and urgency of product need
- Work closely with global suppliers to resolve any issues regarding pickup and exportation from supplier countries
- Identify the type of import and delivery location – fulfillment (consumption and FTZ warehouses)
- Ensure appropriate service levels and tracking for all first, middle and final mile delivery operations upon dispatch from all REI Fulfillment, Manufacturing and Corporate facilities and operations
- Communicate transit information to internal stakeholders daily, processing information from carrier reports
- Monitor all shipments in transit, addressing all problems that may delay deliveries
- Participate in and help to maintain professional relationships and communication with all logistics and transportation service providers
- Review and approve all carrier freight invoices, working closely with the Accounts Payable team
- Prepare, review, and submit FTZ reports to our brokerage for consumption entries and export shipments
- Assist business partners in understanding the risks and consequences of the given situation
- Coordinate and approve international shipments in accordance with U.S. trade laws.
- Complete visual compliance screenings
- Maintain compliance due diligence records, including Automated Commercial Environment filings and encryption reporting
- Work with our brokerage to confirm the information required for import clearance.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory export information
- File ITN requests
- Review and release export holds on customer orders if appropriate, alerting customer service if a hold cannot be released
- Prepare and submit import paperwork to brokerage partners for incoming shipments
- Maintain a clear understanding of team goals and drive to attain established team metrics
- Assist with other miscellaneous tasks as needed
- Assist fulfillment and Sales teams with shipment questions and problems as they arise
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in global logistics, trade compliance, or related position preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or related programs required
- Must be personable, a team player, and able to work with various personalities and groups
- Must be adaptable to provide and ensure department coverage
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
