Responsibilities
Adjusts, regulates, repairs, and cleans pilots, burners, orifices, controls and accessories on gas appliances as done in the past in a skilled manner to the satisfaction customer, with a minimum of direct assistance. Inspects appliance installations, including service, regulators, meters, meter connections, house piping, appliance and venting facilities, to determine and correct problems in appliance operation. Installs parts on gas appliances. Takes orders from customers for appliance parts and accessories. Works fixed shift on general service work. Does work of meter man or helper and performs other miscellaneous Customer Service work as required. May involve handling hazardous waste. Training will be provided by the Company to meet requirements of 40 CFR 265.16
Skills And Requirements
Must possess all the qualifications and be able to perform the duties of a Service Representative B in a fully and satisfactory manner. Must have had experience as a Service Representative B for a minimum of 18 months and can immediately qualify for a Public Service Gas Technician's license. Must understand and demonstrate knowledge of safe practice in their work. Must have knowledge of basic principles of gas combustion and utilization. Must have general knowledge of gas pressures, orifice sizing gas piping, venting of gas appliances, meters, regulators and control of gas appliances.
