Overview
Rochester Gastroenterology Associates, LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Prior Authorization Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the prior authorization process for specialty medications (biologics), ensuring compliance with insurance requirements, and facilitating effective communication between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding, as well as experience in insurance verification and managed care.
Duties
- Review and process prior authorization requests for specialty medications.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility through various platforms.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation for authorization.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain approvals for procedures and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to prior authorizations.
- Assist in resolving any issues or denials related to prior authorization requests.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, managed care guidelines, and medical coding practices.
Epic experience is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
