About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Paul's Auto Yard. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery/crane to move materials, load and unload trucks, and perform other duties as assigned. Your work will be critical to the success of our operations, and you will play a key role in ensuring that our equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently. You will work closely with other members of our team to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- At least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy equipment and crane in a scrap yard or similar environment
- Experience with welding and fabrication
- Experience with hydraulic systems and other heavy equipment components
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and backhoes to move materials and perform other tasks as assigned
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure that it is in good working order
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure that work is performed safely and efficiently
- Communicate effectively with other members of the team to ensure that work is coordinated and completed on time
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Skills:
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will use your skills in operating heavy machinery, performing routine maintenance, and following safety procedures to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will also use your communication skills to work effectively with other members of the team, and your ability to read and interpret technical documents to ensure that work is performed accurately and efficiently. Your experience in operating heavy equipment and your knowledge of hydraulic systems and other heavy equipment components will be critical to your success in this role.
Hours: Monday - Saturday 8am-5pm (40 hour work week, possible overtime)
